a) Cookies and their use

Cookies are specific identifiers that may be transferred to the hard drive of your computer or other end devices in order to ensure the proper functionality of our website.

Cookies may also be used by us for additional purposes, in particular to:

  • automatically recognise you when you log in to our website, enabling us to provide targeted product recommendations and, where applicable, additional services and features;
  • display content on our website that is specifically tailored to your interests, including, where applicable, advertising;
  • conduct research and analyses to improve content, products and services;
  • prevent fraudulent activity;
  • improve security.

When accessing our website, you will be asked to give your consent to the use of cookies. You may choose to allow only necessary cookies or also accept cookies for marketing and advertising purposes.

The legal basis for setting cookies and processing related data is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and in other cases Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If you do not allow cookies or reject them by other means, there may be limitations in the display and functionality of the website. For example, it may not be possible to use products or services that require login.

b) Rejecting cookies: browser settings

The help function of most web browsers explains how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to be notified when a new cookie is set, or how to disable all cookies.

Google Maps

Our website uses the Google Maps API to display geographical information visually. Google Maps is a mapping service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of the Maps functions by visitors to the website. Further information on data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy:
http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html

You can also change your settings in Google’s privacy centre to manage and protect your data.

Matomo

This website uses the open-source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that allow an analysis of your use of the website.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymised before storage.

The information generated by the cookie is not passed on to third parties. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

If you do not agree to the storage and use of your data, you can deactivate this function. In this case, an opt-out cookie will be stored in your browser, which prevents Matomo from storing usage data. If you delete your cookies, the Matomo opt-out cookie will also be deleted and must be reactivated on a subsequent visit.

Social media

The content on our pages can be shared on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Xing, WhatsApp or Google+. No plugins provided by these social networks are integrated on our website. There is no automatic transmission of user data to the operators of these platforms.

Our social buttons only establish a direct connection between the networks and users when the user actively clicks on one of the buttons. If the user is logged in to a social network, an information window appears when using the social buttons, allowing the user to edit the text before sending it.

Users can therefore share content from this website without complete browsing profiles being created by the network operators.

Contact via our website

You can contact us directly via the contact forms on our website (appointment requests, referral or prescription requests, etc.). The contact details and information you provide via the form are collected, processed, stored and used exclusively for the purpose of handling your specific request. Data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

The legal basis for processing your data is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. By giving your consent, you also agree to further communication with us by email regarding your request.

Deletion and blocking of personal data

We process and store personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of storage or as required by European directives and regulations or other legislators.

Once the purpose of storage no longer applies or a legally prescribed retention period expires, the personal data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with legal requirements.

Rights of the data subject

You have the right to obtain free information at any time, without giving reasons, about the personal data stored about you. You also have the right to have your data corrected, blocked or deleted at any time, and to object to the anonymised or pseudonymised collection and storage of data for the purpose of optimising our website.

You may revoke any consent you have given for data collection and use at any time without giving reasons. Data processing carried out up to the time of revocation remains lawful. The revocation must be addressed to the controller using the contact details provided above.

Pursuant to Article 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data is unlawful.

Data protection in applications and recruitment procedures

We collect and process personal data of applicants for the purpose of handling the application process. Processing may also take place electronically, for example when application documents are submitted by email.

If an employment contract is concluded with an applicant, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with legal requirements. If no employment contract is concluded, the application documents will be automatically deleted six months after notification of the rejection decision, provided that no other legitimate interests of the controller oppose deletion. Such legitimate interests include, for example, obligations to provide evidence in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).
